i think it’s downward
it is going up look at the boots and th lip of each step
I think that from where the pic is taken, you would be going upwards because of the angles of certain things in the pic. I am a genius. it takes a genius to figure out what i have just figured out. therefore i am an absolute GENIUS!!!
i can tell its going upward cos i can tell by the little bit sticking out at the surface of the stairs cos i have that on my staircase

well…….i didnt get it……..
Definitely going up, as the number on the door in the bottom left hand corner is facing upwards and up the stairs. The lips of each step could be stair edge guards, but yes they are over hanging the step, therefore upwards
